February Newsletter

February 2012

Hi WEBSITE

It's Valentine's Day this month...big hairy woop! Am I really saying that as a Relationship Coach? I am indeed and I think it would help if I explained where I am coming from with this. I am going out on a limb and stating that you know you've made it as a couple when VDay is "no big deal"! And yes, I said that too!

There are two sides to this statement: the shadow side that entails no consideration for the relationship and hence VDay symbolizes wounded-ness that runs so deep that the heart has long closed it's doors and shut down access for the long haul; the enlightened side is that LOVE is something that is expressed moment by moment and day by day and so a designed day to say your "unsaids" and "I love you's" is irrelevant inside of your dynamically pumping relationship!

Which end of the stick are you on? Do you say "I love you" by looking into your partners eyes daily, do you write notes and cards to one another weekly, do you email funny and playful things, do you cuddle at night, hold hands in the movies and laugh in unison at funny jokes OR is this a big day where you muster all your energies into a big red card found at the local store with a rose that says "forgive me for being such a jerk"? I suppose the day has value if it brings the topic of LOVE to the surface (no matter how you come to it) and yet I exult when VDay is no biggie because love and affection are alive and well long before February 14th rolled around!

Wherever you lie on the spectrum for VDay, enjoy playing the little game I have in store for this month. It need not be done on the 14th but if that works for you both, go for it!

For those couples joining me for the intensive Relationship Games Master Series in Brisbane this weekend, I look forward to forging new ground in the realm of awesome couple-dome!

Go forth and be love-some!

The language of love
