If I really "knew" so much, wouldn't I actually be out there still playing in the tournament? Why is it that the "fan" always knows the right moves to make? Can we ever really know the appropriate action for someone else? Because I could contrast this with being out on the court and how different that experience was, it became clear to me that being "in the game" was where the juice of life lie. Out on the field: Communication is short, concise and to the point, the body moves in accord with information being gathered, and there is a general trial-and-error approach. Being in action is beyond judgement, commentary or analysis and the learnings and growth are much richer. The moment this distinction about being "in" life vs on the periphery came to me, I committed my life to being "In The Game". I intend to always be current and "inside" the conversation and inspire others by who I am being rather than what I am saying. Because of this, all of "In The Game's" facilitation, coaching, and mentoring is based on providing opportunities for growth through experiential games and activities. Congratulations on being "In The Game" by reading this piece and asking yourselves the bigger questions and potentially then acting on them. Every month, there will be a new GAME that you can play (designed mostly for couples but always amendable for friendships and families alike) yet it's your participation that determines your expansion and growth. |
